The insert is made from grid (raster) foam with a cube structure across the entire surface. The base size of 1200 mm x 600 mm and a thickness of 20 mm makes it suitable for a wide range of containers, from large boxes and pallet containers to aluminium cases and backpacks. Because the dimensions are standardized, the insert fits directly into many common storage and transport solutions without further adjustment.

The foam is punched without a fixed edge frame, which means the outer dimensions can be easily adapted. You can simply cut or tear away edge sections to fit narrower boxes, cases or compartments. This edge-free punching significantly increases flexibility and allows the insert to be tailored to very different interior dimensions.

The internal grid consists of 15 mm x 15 mm cubes. This fine raster allows you to create almost any shape of recess by selectively removing cubes. You only need your hands to do this - no knife or other tools are required. Just pluck out the cubes along the pre-punched lines until you have formed the desired cavity for your contents.

Because of the small 15 mm grid, cut-outs can follow the contours of items relatively closely, which helps to reduce play and movement inside the container. This is especially important when contents need to be kept securely in place during transport or when containers are frequently moved or stacked.

For optimal protection, it is recommended to use matching foam bases or foam lids, or additional convoluted foam (egg-crate foam) in various heights. A foam base under the grid insert provides extra cushioning from below, while a foam lid or convoluted foam layer on top protects the contents from above and helps to lock them securely in place when the container is closed. By combining several layers, you can adjust the interior padding to the height and sensitivity of your items.
